Baseball Splits Doubleheader, Salvages Series With Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, GA. – UNC Pembroke was held to three hits and a single run in a 9-1 Game 2 loss, but held off a late Young Harris rally to salvage the series with a 5-4 win in the series finale.

Seth Willis was outstanding out of the pen in the Game 3 win, going the final 5.1 innings, allowing four hits and two runs, while also racking up five strikeouts to pick up his fourth win of the season.

Kasen McCawley led the way offensively in Game 3, driving in two on a 1-3 day, while also adding a walk and a stolen base.

The Braves (14-8, 4-5 CC) moved to 19-10 in the all-time series with the Mountain Lions (15-7, 8-4 CC), and are now 10-5 when playing at Young Harris.

UNCP will be back in action Tuesday, March 11 as they hit the road to Salisbury to take on Catawba for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Newman Park.
