Baseball Takes Down Erskine In Series Opener

CARY – UNC Pembroke jumped out to an early lead and rode strong outings from Spencer Ledford and Landon Lucas, before Seth Willis picked up the save for the third-straight game as the Braves took a 5-2 win over Erskine in the Conference Carolinas series opener Friday afternoon at the USA Baseball NTC.

Hayden Davis and Will Hood each had two hits, with Davis picking up an RBI and Hood knocking in two.

Spencer Ledford turned in 5+ innings of one-run ball, before Landon Lucas went 3.2 innings and allowed just one run, while Seth Willis came on with the tying run at the plate and nailed down his ninth save of the season.

The Braves (24-19, 12-13 CC) improved to 12-4 in the all-time series with the Flying Fleet (18-26, 7-18 CC), and have now won seven-consecutive matchups against Erskine.

UNCP will be back in action Saturday as the two squads wrap up the series with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for noon. The Braves will celebrate its 2025 senior class before the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
