GREENSBORO – Carina Fiorucci broke her own outdoor school record in the women's pole vault, while Kelvin Kibet brought home an event title in the men's 5000m to highlight opening-day action at the Aggie Invitational on Friday.

Fiorucci cleared 3.38m to take third in the event, while Kibet crossed in a time of 15:36.38 to take first in the 5000m.

On the men's side, Ryan Jimenez (15:43.06) and Conrad Robertson (15:47.36) finished right behind Kibet in the 5000m, taking second and third, respectively. Cole Thomas took second in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 4.70m. Lucas Nervo posted a personal-best 4:00.15 to finish fourth in the 1500m, while Antony Kigen also established a new personal best to finish fifth in the 1500m with a time of 4:00.18.
 
Sofia Skidmore took ninth in the 1500m at 4:55.58, while YaNelli Dawkins posted a personal-best mark of 37.01m to take 12th in the discus to highlight action on the women's side.

The Braves combined to post 11 new personal bests during Day 1 action..

Both squads will be back on the track Saturday for final-day action of the Aggie Invitational, with events slated to begin at 10 a.m.
