Soccer Logs Another Shutout, Takes Down Ferrum

PEMBROKE – After taking a hard-fought 1-0 lead into the halftime break, UNC Pembroke used two second-half goals to take a 3-0 win over Ferrum in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday night at LREMC Stadium.

Mercy Bell, Eli Soderberg, and Aubrianna Martin each recorded a goal apiece, while Jasmin Diop tallied two assists, with Reagan Carr also picking an assist.

The Braves (2-2-0, 2-0-0 CC) were victorious in the first ever meeting with the Panthers (2-1-2, 1-1-0 CC).
 
SCORING SUMMARY
7' Reagan Carr's service found the foot of Mercy Bell, who collected and snuck a shot past the Ferrum goalkeeper to give the Braves an early 1-0 lead.
68' Jasmin Diop's shot tipped off the goalkeeper's hands to the foot of Eli Soderberg, who touched it into the back of the net to make it 2-0.
84' Diop's corner kick into the box found Aubrianna Martin, who blasted a right-footed strike home to stretch the lead to 3-0.
TOP BRAVES
+ Jasmin Diop and Mercy Bell each logged a team-high seven shots.
+ Eugenie Amidou led the way with four shots on goal.
+ Addison Ellsworth record three saves to pick up her second-straight clean sheet.
NOTABLES
+ UNCP outshot Ferrum 39-9, and logged the most shots in a game since recording 42 against Shorter on September 28, 2024.
+ Aubrianna Martin tallied her first collegiate goal. 
+ Mercy Bell logged her 40th career goal, becoming just the third player in program history to join the 40-goal club.
   
UP NEXT
UNCP will continue Conference Carolinas play September 20, as they head to Mount Olive to take on the Trojans. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Amon Field.
