GREENVILLE, S.C. – Good news continued for the UNC Pembroke football team on Monday when
Que Kennedy was named the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week and
Jamiel Davis was named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, league officials announced Monday afternoon..
The announcement marks the fourth-straight week that the Braves have had a pair of players earn the weekly awards. It is the first honor of the season for both Kennedy and Davis.
A native of Ocala, Fla., Kennedy caught three passes for 130-yards during Saturday's 31-0 victory at No. 20 Valdosta State. The sophomore's game was highlighted by a 74-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Kennedy finished Saturday's game with two touchdowns.
Davis helped anchor the UNCP defense that kept Valdosta State scoreless for the first time since 1991. The Wilmington native had a trio of tackles, two of which were solo tackles and broke up one pass. Davis intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter which he turned for a 45-yard touchdown.
