PEMBROKE – Jose Zambrano Canuto (184 pounds), and Bryce Gadson (197), and Nigel Williams (285) all turned in perfect days on the mat to take home titles to highlight wrestling action Saturday at the 2nd Annual Braves Open.

The three-man individual-champion group combined to go 13-0 on the day.

Spencer May (125 pounds), Mason Diemert (184), and Cristian Hercules-Pleitez (285) all brought home third-place finishes.

16 wrestlers registered at least two wins on the mat for the Black & Gold.
 
The Braves will be back in action January 23 for a crucial Conference Carolinas dual as they host Belmont Abbey for Senior Night and Alumni Weekend. Wrestling action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
