PEMBROKE — UNC Pembroke saw four wrestlers bring home titles to highlight action Saturday at the PJ Smith Pembroke Classic.

Cooper Davis (125 pounds), Avery Buonocore (149), Micah McCaskill (157), and Mason Diemert (184) all turned in perfect days on the mat on the way to their titles. 

Davis racked up three technical falls and a pin on his 4-0 day, while Buonocore tallied a major decision, two technical falls, and a pin. McCaskill picked up a technical fall, with Diemert racking up three pins as the quartet combined for 12 bonus-point wins.

13 other Braves brought home top-six finishes.

Joey Bruscino brought home runner-up honors at 125 pounds, with 197-pounder Nigel Williams also turning in a second-place finish. Keegan Roberson (157), Chase Schepis (165), and Imon Freeman (174) each placed third, while Gavin Yow finished fourth in the 197-pound division. James Campos (149), Tyler Nelson (157), Caleb Greenwood (165), and Cristian Hercules-Pleitez (285) all took fifth, with Enrique Olivarers (141), Aspen Talbot (174), and Jackson Buck (184) taking sixth to round out the UNCP placers.

The Braves will be back in action Tuesday, November 10th as they host Emmanuel, Newberry, and Belmont Abbey for a Conference Carolinas quad meet. The Braves will take on Emmanuel at 5 p.m. and Newberry at 6:30 p.m.
