Hot Bats Help Softball By Elizabeth City State

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke softball team scored 18 runs in the second inning to highlight a 36-0 victory in five innings over Elizabeth City State on Wednesday afternoon at Willoughby Field. 

UNCP tallied 36 hits in 43 at bats. Summer Bullard, Rachel Mori and Katie Neel combined for a no hitter striking out nine total batters.

BOT 1 Cirstin Calloway drew a leaoff walk, stole second and scored o na triple from Alona Hanna. Chloe Locklear plated Hanna with a single, followed by an RBI double from Kaitlynn Hunt. Maddie Gerovac was hit by a pitch, but Makayla Etling singled to score Hunt. Megan Ellis knocked and RBI single into the outfield grass followed by a walk from Kaitlyn King. Alona Hanna smacked a triple into left field to score a pair of runs to cap off the eight run inning.
