Baseball Drops Series Finale To Emmanuel

PEMBROKE – Emmanuel used nine hits and a strong relief outing to salvage the series with a 6-4 win in the series finale in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Sammy Cox Field.

Daniel Stephens paced the offense with a 3-5 showing, including a two-run homer in the fifth. 

The Braves (10-2, 4-2 CC) fell to 8-7 all-time against the Lions (5-9, 3-6 CC).

The Black & Gold will be back in action Friday, February 27 as they head to Central, S.C. for a Conference Carolinas series against Southern Wesleyan. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.

TOP 4 Reece Kingeter's two-out three-run homer stretched the Emmanuel lead to 5-1.
BOT 5 After a Lions run in the top half of the sixth, the Braves answered with a two-run homer from Daniel Stephens to cut the deficit to 6-3.
BOT 9 The Braves scored a run on Peyton Young's RBI single to make it 6-4, but Emmanuel's Luke Hopper stranded the bases loaded to secure the win.
