GREENVILLE, S.C. - After helping the UNC Pembroke softball team to a pair of victories for opening weekend, Kaitlynn Hunt has been named as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, league officials announced Tuesday. 

A native of Fuquay-Varina, Hunt hit went 5-for-8 from the plate in a doubleheader against Davis & Elkins on Friday and scored a trio of runs. Hunt added a double and one triple while driving in a team-best seven runs. 

The Braves will host Kutztown at Willoughby Softball Field on Friday at noon. Admission is free.
