Young Harris Sweeps Softball In Conference Doubleheader

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - Young Harris used timely hitting to sweep the UNC Pembroke softball team on Friday afternoon in conference play at the YHC Softball Field. 
 
The Mountain Lions scored multiple runs across three innings and picked up seven RBI from Gracie Hughes to take the opening game 9-2. UNCP stranded seven runners on base while Julia Moore of YHC struck out six batters to complete the sweep with a 2-0 victory.

KEY INNINGS (GAME 1)
TOP 6 Alona Hanna tripled to left field and scored when Cirstin Calloway reached on an error. 
BOT 6 Young Harris loaded the bases with three singles. Gracie Hughes knocked a single into right field to clear the bases and score a trio of runs. Hughes would score on a groundout from Mallory Clark. 
KEY INNINGS (GAME 2)
BOT 2 Gracie Hughes reached via hit by pitch and scored on a double to center field from Addie Heal. The Mountain Lions loaded the bases with singles from Shayla Pennington and Maddy Brady, but a single through the left side from Jordan Morris drove in a run to give YHC a 2-0 lead.
