Soccer Bounces Back With Road Win At Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – After a scoreless first half, UNC Pembroke jumped on Coker with two early second-half goals on the way to a 3-1 non-conference win Wednesday evening.

Lea Pepin notched her first collegiate goal in the 54th minute, and then tacked on her second two minutes later. Willow Price added her second goal in as many games, while Klara Persson added her first collegiate assist on Pepin's second goal.

The Braves (1-1-0) moved to 6-0-0 in the all-time series with the Cobras (1-2-0), and have now outscored Coker 27-3 in the six meetings.
 
SCORING SUMMARY
54' A failed clearance from Coker found the foot of Lea Pepin, who volleyed a strike over the Cobras goalkeeper to put the Braves ahead 1-0.
57' Klara Persson found a streaking Pepin, who outran the Cobras defense and lofted a left-footed shot into the back of the net to secure the brace and a 2-0 lead.
68' Coker's service into the penalty area found the foot of a UNCP defender, whose failed clearance went to the back of the net for an own goal.
75' UNCP's Hailey Jones was tripped up in the box, and Willow Price stepped up and converted a successful penalty kick to stretch the lead to 3-1.
