Volleyball Knocks Off Middle Georgia In Four Sets

PEMBROKE – UNC Pembroke hit a match-best .457 in the final set to defeat Middle Georgia 3-1 in the final match of the UNC Pembroke Invitational on Saturday afternoon. 

The Braves finished the match with 14 service aces, with Abby Peduzzi leading the way with four.

SET 1 I 20-25 Middle Georgia took a 17-14 advantage late in the set, but UNC Pembroke would rally to cut the deficit back to 20-19 with a service ace from Anaya Carter. However, MGA won five of the last six points to take the opening set.  
    - MGA out-hit UNCP .205 to .128 in the set. 
    - Danika Kunkle logged three kills during the set.
     - Abby Peduzzi had a pair of service aces. 
SET 2 I 25-14 UNC Pembroke won six-straight points to take a 14-5 lead, that would eventually move to a 20-8 advantage iwth a kill from Addie Decker.  
    - UNCP out-hit MGA .216 to .023 in the set.
    - Addie Decker tallied a team-best seven kills.
    - Ava Fadool added six kills during the set.  
SET 3 I 25-13 A kill from Deorri Gaines put the Braves ahead 14-8. The Black & Gold won nine of the final 10 points of the set to take a two set lead. 
    - UNCP out-hit MGA .207 to -.138 in the set. 
    - Tyler Patterson and Chiara Binda both had two service aces. 
SET 4 I 25-16 A kill from Caterina Coronelli gave UNC Pembroke a slight 10-8 lead, before winning five out of the next six points to take the lead for good.
    - UNCP out-hit MGA .457 to .115 in the set.
    - Caterina Coronelli finished the set with five kills.
