HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Eastern Alamance High School for coach John Kirby … Earned all-region and all-state nods as a prep senior after hauling in 60 catches for 851 yards … Also accounted for 1,000 return (kick/punt) yards and four special teams touchdowns … Invited to participate in Shrine Bowl … Grabbed all-conference and all-region laurels as a junior after recording 45 catches for 750 yards … Also registered eight special teams touchdowns ... Also lettered in basketball and track & field for Eastern Alamance.

PERSONAL: The son of Anita and John Clay … Has an older sister, Nikki, and an older brother, Matthew … Maintained a 3.2 cumulative grade point average at Eastern Alamance High School and graduated in the top 30 percent of his 210-member senior class … A finance major at UNCP.
