BEFORE UNCP
A first team all-conference selection and offensive player of the year at South View High School for coach Randy Ledford, McLaurin rushed 135 times for 961 yards as a senior, while also catching four passes for 18 yards, in helping to lead the Tigers to a 10-2 record and a conference championship. Averaged more than 80 yards rushing per game and one of his 13 rushing touchdowns came in the form of an 82-yard scamper. A two-sport athlete at South View, McLaurin also lettered in track for the Tigers.
