2008 (SOPHOMORE): Awarded medical redshirt. Did not see varsity action.

2007 (FRESHMAN): Started first four games of season for UNCP, before missing remainder of campaign with neck injury … Recorded 1-3 record as a starter for the Braves … Registered a 107.5 passer rating after throwing for 585 yards on 49-of-98 passing (.500) with four touchdowns and three interceptions … Also rushed for a touchdown as well … Passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-44 passing in UNCP’s program opener at Davidson, included in which was a season-long 64-yard touchdown strike to Darrin Watkins for the first points in the history of intercollegiate football at UNCP … Threw a pair of interceptions on 12-of-22 passing against Greensboro, but threw and ran for a touchdown against the Pride as well … Completed 10-of-18 passing attempts for 127 yards in home loss to Wingate … Threw for 64 yards on 6-of-14 passing at Jacksonville before suffering season-ending injury in fourth quarter.

HIGH SCHOOL: A highly-decorated quarterback at Saint Bonaventure High School for coach Jon Mack … Threw for more than 2,500 yards and 32 touchdowns on 157-of-230 (.682) passing as a senior in leading Seraphs to a perfect 14-0 record, the California state championship and a No. 13 national ranking … Also ran for eight touchdowns and punted 15 times for 613 yards (40.86) … Earned all-state, all-county and all-league laurels at season’s end, as well as offensive back of the year accolades … Completing percentage also established a new county record … Threw for more than 1,800 yards as a junior in pacing St. Bonaventure to a 13-1 record, as well as the league and area championships … Also lettered in basketball and track & field for the Seraphs.

PERSONAL: The son of Denise and Mike Evans was born on May 25, 1987 … Has an older sister, Sarah, and a younger brother, Marc … Maintained a 3.65 cumulative grade point average at Saint Bonaventure High School … An exercise and sports science major at UNCP.
