2009 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in eight games for UNCP … Totaled five tackles (four solo), including one tackle for loss … Registered a solo tackle in his collegiate debut at Fayetteville State … Also recorded solo tackles against Lane and Arkansas Tech, as well as a solo tackle for loss (-3 yards) at North Greenville … Tallied an assist on a tackle at Concord.

2008 (FRESHMAN): Redshirted. Did not see varsity action.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Western Guilford High School for coach Chris Causey … Helped lead Hornets to a 7-6 record as a prep senior and a spot in the second round of the state playoffs … Recorded 85 tackles, including four sacks, as well as forced 12 fumbles and recovered three others … Also scored one defensive touchdown … On the offensive side of the ball, caught six passes for 86 yards and a touchdown, as well as recorded 14 total domination blocks … Earned three consecutive all-conference nods as a prep standout, while also taking home a pair of all-area laurels … Also earned a spot in the East-West All-Star Game … A two-sport athlete at Western Guilford, he also earned a pair of all-conference and all-region honors on the wrestling team, while also qualifying for the state tournament three times.
