AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2015): Played in all 10 games … Ranked fourth on team with 50 tackles (18 solo), including 4-1/2 tackles for loss (-8 yards) … Also registered forced one fumble, broke up three passes and turned in one quarterback hurry … Grabbed an assist on a sack as well … Turned in five or more tackles against eight opponents, including a season-best seven stops (4 solo) at North Greenville … Registered six tackles (1 solo) and two pass break-ups in his collegiate debut against Winston-Salem State … Turned in six tackles (3 solo) at Fayetteville State, including three tackles for loss (-6 yards) … Tallied six tackles and a quarterback hurry against Shaw.

AS A FRESHMAN (2014): A member of the PBC Presidential Honor Roll ... Redshirted and did not see playing time.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at South Iredell High School for coach Scott Miller … Captained the Vikings to an 8-4 record and a spot in the state playoffs … Totaled 90 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss, as a senior … Also registered two sacks, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, one blocked punt and a pass break-up … Registered 98 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, as a junior in leading South Iredell to a 14-2 record and a state championship … Also turned in two sacks, one forced fumble and a pass break-up … Also lettered in track & field for the Vikings.

PERSONAL: The son of Stacey and Shawn Barnett … Has an older brother, Preston … Maintained a 4.1 cumulative grade point average at South Iredell High School … An earth science major at UNCP.
