AS A SOPHOMORE (2018): Saw action in all 11 games … Hauled in 29 catches for 427 yards and three scores … Recorded at least one reception in 10 games, including six multiple-reception outings. Winston-Salem State: Hauled in six catches for 66 yards … credited with 40 receiving yards (3 catches) on touchdown drive that bridged first and second quarters, including a 30-yard reception. Virginia State: Logged one reception that went for no gain. Limestone: Credited with one reception (no gain). Carson-Newman: Caught four passes for 51 yards, as well as his first career scoring reception … hauled in a 34-yard scoring strike from Josh Jones late in the third quarter. Mars Hill: Tallied three receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown … tallied touchdown reception on second play from scrimmage – a 64-yard (season-longest) pass and catch from Josh Jones … also scored on a 2-point conversion (pass) on UNCP’s touchdown right before the halftime break. #13 Wingate: Hauled in three catches for 17 yards and a touchdown … scored on a 12-yard pass from Josh Jones late in the fourth quarter. Tusculum: Tallied a 23-yard catch in the fourth quarter. Newberry: Tallied a 20-yard catch in fourth quarter. #7 Lenoir-Rhyne: Registered season highs for both receptions (7) and receiving yards (142) … first catch was a 40-yard reception in second quarter … also hauled in 37- and 32-yard receptions in the fourth quarter … finished with three catches for 76 yards in fourth quarter alone. UVa.-Wise: Finished with two catches for 20 yards, including a 13-yard reception in first quarter.
 
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2018): Played in six games … Caught four passes for 30 yards. Newberry: Caught two passes for eight yards … first collegiate reception was a 4-yard catch in fourth quarter. Mars Hill: Tallied one catch for nine yards. Carson-Newman: Registered a season-longest 13-yard catch in first quarter.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017): Redshirted. Did not see game action.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Southern Durham High School for coach Darius Robinson … Earned all-conference recognition as a senior after hauling in 31 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns … Senior performance included an 11-catch, 133-yard showing against Northern and a 7-catch, 118-yard, 2-touchdown game against Northwood … Also earned most valuable player accolades as a member of the track & field team at Southern Durham.
 
PERSONAL: The son of Sharon and Marcus McDonald … Has a brother, Matthew, and a sister, Mia … Maintains a 3.0 cumulative grade point average at Southern Durham High School … Lists his father as his hero … Also lists Lone Survivor as his favorite movie and chicken and waffles as his favorite food … Plans on majoring in biology at UNCP.
