AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013): Played in eight games for UNCP … Spent much of the season listed second on the depth chart at right tackle … Part of an offensive line that allowed just 1.37 sacks per game (37th/nationally) and paved the way for the nation’s 43rd-ranked total offense.

AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Redshirted … Did not see varsity action.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Crest High School for coach Marc Barnes … Helped lead the Chargers to an 11-4 record as a prep senior, a conference title and a spot in the state playoffs.

PERSONAL: The son of Cynthia and Ronald Pettis was born on Aug. 10, 1993 … A mass communications major at UNCP.
