BEFORE UNCP
A recipient of the coaches’ award, Caldwell split time on offense and defense as a senior for Jay M. Robinson High School and coach Robert Cloninger. Offensively, he averaged more than four yards per carry out of the backfield as a team captain. Defensively, he averaged more than five tackles per game for the Bulldogs. A three-sport athlete for Jay M. Robinson, Caldwell also lettered in track and baseball for the Bulldogs.
