HIGH SCHOOL: A decorated lineman at Scotland High School for coach Mark Barnes … Earned all-state and second-straight all-conference accolades as a senior after pacing Fighting Scots to a 7-5 record and a spot in the state playoffs … Also took home second consecutive lineman of the year laurels for the Scots … Was also a standout on the track & field squad at Scotland High School as well, taking home the conference title in the discus as a senior, while finishing third in the region meet … Also grabbed runner-up honors at the region meet in the shot put as well.
PERSONAL: The son of Sandra and Ricky Deese was born on Dec. 23, 1986 … Has two older brothers, Eric and Jammie … Jammie is a current UNCP assistant coach, as well as a former player for both the Washington Redskins and Fayetteville (N.C.)
