Having already cemented a place in the UNC Pembroke football record books with an outstanding playing career, DeVante Bush begins his fifth year on the coaching staff in 2019-20 as the defensive line coach for the Braves. He previously served as a graduate assistant coach for the Black & Gold in 2015-16.
 
A four-year letterman for the Braves (2010-13), Bush amassed 112 tackles (49 solo) over his illustrious career, while also tacking up 29-1/2 tackles for loss (-149 yards). He finished his career as the program’s all-time sacks leader with 19-1/2 quarterback drops, including a senior campaign that watched him tally five alone.
 
Bush earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from UNC Pembroke in 2015 and earned his master’s degree in sports administration from UNCP in 2017.
