2009 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in five games for UNCP … Registered eight tackles (three solo), including 1-1/2 tackles for loss (-13 yards) … Also turned in one sack on the season … Recorded a season-best three tackles (one solo) in his collegiate debut against Lane, while registering an assist on a tackle for loss as well … Also totaled a pair of tackles against both Frostburg State and Arkansas Tech … Performance against the Wonder Boys also included a 12-yard sack in the second quarter.

2008 (FRESHMAN): Redshirted. Did not see varsity action.

HIGH SCHOOL: A highly decorated linebacker at South Rowan High School for coach Jason Rollins … Booked more than 200 tackles, including four sacks, and four fumbles as a prep senior en route to his second consecutive all-county and all-conference nods, all-state laurels and team most valuable player honors … Named team MVP as a junior as well after collecting 156 tackles for the Raiders … Also lettered in basketball for South Rowan.

PERSONAL: The son of Kim and John Davis was born on Jan. 23, 1990 … Has a younger brother, John III … Graduated in the top 15 percent of his 260-member senior class at South Rowan High School while maintaining a 3.85 cumulative grade point average … A double major in sports medicine and physical therapy at UNCP.
