2008 (SOPHOMORE): A second team selection to the   D2Football.com all-NCAA Independent squad … Played in all 10 games for   UNCP with nine starts to his credit … Ranked third on the team with 52   tackles (34 solo), including 8-1/2 tackles for loss (two sacks) … Also   tallied three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one quarterback   hurry and one pass break-up … Booked five or more tackles against seven   different opponents, while also registering at least one tackle for  loss  against five different opponents … Tallied five tackles in the  season  opener at Brevard, and followed with seven-tackle performances  against  both Davidson and Wingate, including five solo stops against  both  opponents … Booked his first sack of the season, as well as his  lone  quarterback hurry, in the following game against Jacksonville …  Made  seven tackles (five solo) at Lane, while also scooping up a fumble  and  returning the turnover 36 yards for a touchdown … Also recovered a   fumble against Concord, as well as tallied a forced fumble and a  fumble  recovery against North Greenville … Tallied five solo tackles,  including  two tackles for loss, in consecutive games against West  Virginia  Wesleyan and Edward Waters.
2007 (FRESHMAN):   Started the first two games of the season for UNCP before missing the   remainder of the season with an unspecified injury … Booked 21 tackles   (17 solo) in those two outings, while also recording an interception, a   fumble recovery and a pass break-up … Was the Braves’ leading tackler   through those two games … Tallied nine tackles (six solo) in the season   opener at Davidson, as well as a fumble recovery … Made 12 stops (11   solo) against Greensboro, while also tallying an interception.
BEFORE   UNCP: Spent one season (2006) at East Carolina, but  redshirted  and did not see varsity action.
HIGH SCHOOL:  A  decorated linebacker at Seventy-First High School for coach Chuck  Marrs …  Booked a team-best 186 tackles as a prep senior en route to  leading the  Falcons to their third-straight berth into the state  playoffs … Earned  all-conference and team most valuable player laurels  at season’s end …  Earned most valuable defensive lineman accolades as a  junior … Also  served as captain of the basketball team at  Seventy-First, averaging  10.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game  as a senior in leading  the Falcons to an 18-2 record and a runner-up  finish in the state  tournament.
