BEFORE UNCP: Played two seasons at Louisburg College … Played in all 10 games for the Hurricanes last season … Registered 29 tackles (19 solo), including 6-1/2 tackles for loss and 4-1/2 sacks … Also forced one fumble and recovered one fumble.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Terry Sanford High School for coach Wayne Inman … Earned second-straight all-conference  and all-region laurels after leading Bulldogs to a 9-1 record and a state playoff appearance … Also captured second consecutive “Iron Dog” award while serving as team captain.

PERSONAL: The son of Rhonda Jackson and James Johnson, Sr. was born on Nov. 8, 1989 … Has two sisters, Savanna and Shelley … A business major at UNCP.
