HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Cape Fear High School for coach Jake Thomas … Garnered second-straight defensive lineman of the year as a senior after totaling 49 tackles (43 solo), including 24-1/2 tackles for loss … Also turned in 3-1/2 sacks and one fumble recovery … Also ran for 26 yards and one touchdown (nine carries) … Amassed 54 tackles (39 solo) as a junior, including 23 tackles for loss, as well as a forced fumble … Also lettered in wrestling and baseball for the Colts … Tallied 54 victories on the way to a state wrestling title as a senior … Finished third at the state tournament as a junior.
