AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2014): Played in all 10 games, mostly on special teams.

AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Redshirted … Did not see varsity action.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Terry Sanford High School for coach Wayne Inman … Earned second consecutive all-conference honors as a prep senior after amassing 96 tackles (54 solo), including 30 tackles for loss (two sacks) to help lead the Bulldogs to the state playoffs … Also turned in 13 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles, one blocked kick and a pass break-up … Registered 67 tackles as a junior, including 10 tackles for loss … Also forced a fumble … Lettered in baseball and track & field at Terry Sanford as well.

PERSONAL: The son of Amy Elliott and Mike Derr … Has a younger sister, Savannah … A physical therapy major at UNCP.
