A seasoned athletic trainer with NCAA Division I experience with football programs at both Missouri and Northwestern, Francesca LaTorraca joined the UNC Pembroke athletics department in August 2020 as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. LaTorraca has been charged with the day-to-day athletic training responsibilities for the football and swimming programs.

A native of Chicago, Ill., LaTorraca achieved a plethora of experience while completing her undergraduate work at Missouri. While in Columbia, Mo., she completed stints as an student athletic trainer with the softball and track & field programs, as well as two separate stints with the Mizzou football team. Her experience also includes a summer internship with the football team at Northwestern.

A member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, LaTorraca is also certified in CPR/AED by the American Red Cross. A seven-time member of the Dean’s List, she earned her bachelor’s degree in health science in athletic training from Missouri in May 2020.
