HIGH SCHOOL: A dual-threat quarterback at Lexington Senior High School for coach Chris Deal … Threw for 1,913 yards and 16 touchdowns, while running for 923 yards and 14 more scores in leading the Yellow Jackets to an 8-5 record and the second round of the state playoffs … Earned team offensive most valuable player laurels … Threw for 1,715 yards and 12 touchdowns on 101-of-221 passing as a junior, while also rushing 104 times for 657 yards and three more scores … Was also an all-conference standout in both baseball and basketball for the Yellow Jackets as well.

PERSONAL: The son of Rhonda Blackwell and Anthony Knutts was born on April 4, 1991 … Has one brother, Jalen, and three sisters, Destiny, Emre and Eret … Graduated in the top 30 percent of his 165-member senior class at Lexington Senior High School while maintaining a 3.3 cumulative grade point average … An athletic training major at UNCP.
