Prepped at CamTech High School under coach Summer Sayer … A four-year letterman in track and field and three-year letterman in volleyball … In her senior year, she assisted her team to a 23-4 overall record and become conference champions for back-to-back years … Registered 202 kills, 36 blocks, 41 service aces, 93 digs and one assist … As a junior, she totaled 103 kills, 45 blocks, 12 service aces, 13 digs, and eight assists … Registered all-conference, all-area, all-academic honors along with the Daily Advance Four Star Performer laurel … Named all-area, all-region, academic all-conference and MVP in track and field and garnered the Bruin Pride Sportsmanship Award.

The daughter of Katrina Jones-Walpes, Mel Waples and Jason Shelley … Has two older brothers, Mel and Mathew, and three older sisters, Tyeasha, Jasmine and Musique … Ranked fourth out of her 48-member senior class with a 4.536 weighted grade point average … Named  English Student of the Year, Science Student of the Year, CamTech Student of the Month and was on the A Honor Roll … A member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Health Occupational Students of America, Student Government, Prom Committee and Rotary Interact Club … A political science and pre-med major at UNCP.
