The Black & Gold registered an 81-76 victory over the host Bears on Friday evening, before suffering a 98-91 setback to Catawba on Saturday.
  • Four players will head into Wednesday sporting double-digit scoring averages, including sophomore James Murray-Boyles who averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists in two games off the bench over the weekend. Murray-Boyles scored 15 points in just 18 minutes against Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday, and then put up a team-best 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in Saturday's loss to Catawba.
  • The Black & Gold has shot 48 percent from the field through two games so far, and has canned better than 70 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe. That tally includes a 22-for-28 performance from the free throw line in Friday's win over the Bears.
  • Wingate will bring a 1-1 record into Wednesday's contest as well after splitting two games at the Mars Hill-hosted Tip-Off Challenge over the weekend. The Bulldogs opened the season with a 77-69 victory over Limestone on Friday, before suffering an 80-77 setback to Belmont Abbey on Saturday.

  • UNCP leads the all-time series, 24-23, but the Braves are just 3-7 in the series since both schools joined the NCAA Division II ranks prior to the 1992-93 campaign, including a 1-3 series clip on Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. The Braves registered a 79-69 victory in the last meeting in Pembroke, but fell to the Bulldogs, 66-54, last season in Wingate.
