• UNCP will ride a four-game win streak into the weekend after completing a season sweep of Winston-Salem State with an 84-62 road victory over the Rams on November 30. The Black & Gold, who led by as much as 30 points in that outing, got double-digit scoring from four different players in the triumph.

• Newcomer Nigel Grant has averaged team-bests in both points (15.2) and rebounds (7.5) per game through six outings this season. Sophomore James Murray-Boyles has come off the bench in all six contests, but still ranks second in scoring (14.0 points/game) thanks to 52.5 percent shooting from the field.

• The Braves boast a Peach Belt Conference-best 87.2 points per game this season, but also rank second in free throw percentage (.730), field goal percentage (.479) and rebounding margin (+7.0). The Black & Gold also tacks up a league-best 10.5 steals an outing as well.

• Barton has won five of its last six outings, including a 106-87 home triumph over Elizabeth City State on Tuesday in Wilson. The Bulldogs shot better than 53 percent from the field in that outing, and canned 29 of their 36 (80.6%) free throw attempts as well.

• Freshman point guard Michael Boykin leads Barton in scoring at 13.0 points per game, but seniors Daniel Westbrook (12.6) and R.J. Claypool (11.8) have put up double-figure scoring averages as well through eight games. Boykin has shot nearly 49 percent from the field in his rookie season so far, while also averaging 3.3 assists per outing as well. Former UNCP player Tyler Thayer has started all eight games for Barton this season and averages 6.4 points an outing.

• UNCP leads the all-time series, 39-26, including a 79-67 victory over the Bulldogs last season in the Mount Olive-hosted Pickle Classic. The clubs have met just eight times since the Braves joined NCAA Division II, and UNCP has won five of those contests.
