Gina Ryan was a perfect 10-for-10 on saves, including eight in the second half, to pick up her fifth clean sheet of the season and fuel the UNC Pembroke soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday evening in Pembroke.

FIRST HALF
-Lenoir-Rhyne had the match's first chance in the 8th-minute, but
Gina Ryan turned away Cassandra's Kerrigan shot attempt.

Alexis Pittman would not be denied on UNCP's first scoring chance, as the freshman buried her fifth goal of the season off a cross from
Stacey Scott in the 11th-minute.
-The Braves made it a perfect 2-for-2 on shot attempts when Scott beat the keeper one-on-one and netted her sixth of the season in the 21st-minute off touch passes from
Carly Rochelle and
Shannon O'Neill.
-Lenoir-Rhyne's Alayna Morris made her first save of the match on
Jillian Robson's lone shot attempt in the 42nd-minute.

SECOND HALF

Gina Ryan played some of her best minutes of the season in the second half, going a perfect 8-for-8 in save chances, including two in the final five minutes.
-The Braves managed just two shots in the final stanza and forced Morris to make just one save in the 62nd-minute on a
Christine Rolfes long-range missle.
-The Bears fired 11 shots in the second half, including five from inside the 18-yard box, but
Gina Ryan was up to the task on each of them.

Gina Ryan's shutout was her fifth of the season and her 10 saves are her second most behind an 11-save outing at Columbus State.
-The sophomore keeper leads the Peach Belt Conference with a 0.62 goals against average and a .887 save percentage in 12 matches this season. She now has 12 career shutouts in 23 matches in which she has played from beginning to end.
-Pittman's goal tied her for the team lead with five until Scott's goal 10 minutes later. Scott now leads all Braves with six goals and 16 points this season.
-Scott's assist was her team-leading fourth of the season, while Rochelle picked up her fourth and O'Neill's dished out assist number three.

The Braves continue a four-match home stand with a Monday meeting with Lees-McRae. First touch is set for 5:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a ribbon cutting for Lumbee River EMC Stadium at 5:20 p.m. The Bobcats (3-8-2) won a 2-1 affair over Converse Saturday afternoon. UNCP and Lees-McRae have met only one time on the pitch in school history, a 1-0 Black & Gold victory last season in Banner Elk.
