PEMBROKE – On a night dedicated to the grand opening of Lumbee River EMC Stadium, the UNC Pembroke soccer team sent a season-best crowd home with a smile, as
Kate Weisner found the back of the net with just 98 seconds to play to stun visiting Lees-McRae 1-0 in double overtime.

FIRST HALF
-The Braves ramped up the pressure early in the match with a shot in the second-minute that was blocked before forcing Lees-McRae keeper Alexis Feely to make her first save just 19 seconds later.
-UNCP's high-powered offense fired four shots and took a pair of corner kicks in a three-minute span beginning late in the 12th-minute, but could not slip one past Feely.
The Black & Gold's best chance of the opening half came in the 15th-minute when Riley Seering blasted a shot from in the box, but Feely extended to her left and used her fingertips to send the ball off the right post.
-The reigning, two-time Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Goalkeeper of the Week,
Gina Ryan, made her only save of the match in the 16th-minute on a long-distance shot from the Bobcats' Riley Neese.
-The Braves attempted 10 shots in the first 45 minutes to Lees-McRae's two and took five corner kicks before the halftime break.
SECOND HALF
-UNCP forced Feely to make four saves in the second half, but the Bobcat keeper was up to the task each time.
-The Braves were awarded three corner kicks in a 77-second span in the 66th- and 67th-minutes, but attempted just one shot in that span.
-A last-ditch, regulation corner kick with under a minute to play was cleared away by the Bobcat defense to force sudden-death overtime.
-The Black & Gold fired 10 shots and took 10 corner kicks in the second half, while Lees-McRae managed just a trio of shots, none of which tested
Gina Ryan.
FIRST OVERTIME
-Three of the Braves' four shots in the first 10-minute period were on goal, but Feely saved all three, including a Seering header from in the box in the 93rd-minute.
-The Bobcats' lone shot of the first overtime stanza was blocked away by a sliding
Katy Ryan in the 98th-minute.
SECOND OVERTIME
-Maintaining possession for the majority of the second overtime, the Braves attempted seven shots and a pair of corner kicks before finding the game winner.
-With the clock ticking under two minutes to play,
Alexis Pittman beat her defender down the right side of the pitch and sent a perfect cross into a waiting
Kate Weisner, who sealed the victory with a right-footed, one-timer that beat Feely in the upper right.
NOTABLES
-Weisner's goal was her fourth of the season and second game winner of the campaign.
-Pittman picked up her third assist to give her 13 points on the season, which is second best among all Braves.
-
Gina Ryan notched her sixth shutout of the season, a mark that is tied for the most in the PBC, and the 13th clean sheet of her career.
-The Braves' 32 total shots are the most since they attempted 39 in a 7-0 win over Georgia Southwestern on Sept. 15, 2015.
-The 19 UNCP corner kicks are the most in program history and come just one short of the PBC record for most in a match. The previous Braves' record was 14, which happened on multiple occasions.
-Monday marks the second time in the last three outings that the Braves have scored in the final two minutes of a period after forcing overtime with No. 5 Flagler with an 89th-minute strike last Wednesday.
-The Braves extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches dating back to Sept. 28.

The Braves wrap up a four-match home stand Wednesday when PBC foe Lander makes the trek to Pembroke for a 5 p.m. start at Lumbee River EMC Stadium. The Bearcats (7-5-0, 3-4-0) are currently tied for sixth in the league race and playing the final match of a three-match road trip. UNCP holds a 10-7-3 advantage over Lander in series history, dating back to the first meeting in 2001. The Black & Gold has claimed the last four matches by a 9-1 margin, including a 2-0 triumph in Greenwood last season.
