Cayce Bell recorded a match-high 22 digs, but it was her 19th of the night in the fourth set that put her in the exclusive 1,000-career dig club on a night when the UNC Pembroke volleyball team was turned back by visiting Augusta in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action.

FIRST SET
-The Braves jumped out to a 5-1 lead and led by three as late as 14-11, but a 5-0 Jaguar run put the guests in front 16-14 and they did not relinquish the lead.
SECOND SET
-Down 11-5, the Black & Gold battled back with an 8-2 run to knot the set at 13-13 before rattling off nine of 12 points to grab a 22-18 lead.
-Two points from the set at 23-21,
Makaylah Elliott uncorked one of her 13 kills followed by an Augusta attack error to even the match at 1-1.
THIRD SET
-The Jaguars ran out of the gate to a 10-1 lead, but UNCP found its footing and responded with 10 of the next 13 points to pull within two at 13-11.
-Augusta needed six set points to put away the set, as the Braves corralled five-straight points down 24-17 to cut the deficit to 24-22 before an attack error ended the set.
FOURTH SET
-The Braves led by a trio of points at 9-6 before Augusta used a 9-1 run to pull ahead 15-10.
-UNCP got as close as two down 18-16 and was within three points at 21-18, 22-19 and 23-20, but the Jaguars closed out the match with the final two points on a kill and an attack error.
NOTABLES
-Bell was sitting on 981 digs entering the night and ends the match with 1,003 to her credit. Her current pace of 5.72 digs per set would be second in UNCP history.
-Bell currently ranks third in the PBC in digs per set and fourth in total digs with 435.
-Elliott paced the Braves with 13 kills and a career-high .579 attack percentage, while adding five block assists, two digs and one service ace.

Madelyn Ashwell each registered 11 digs and
Amber Tyndall tacked on nine.
-Ashwell added seven digs, two service aces and two block assists to the ledger, while
Aquia Jones pitched in four block assists and three digs.

Bailee Jones dished out a match-high 26 assists, which was one away from her season best.
-The Braves recorded double-digit blocks for the fourth time this season and third time in the month of October.
-UNCP's 54 kills were the second most this season and the Braves held a slim 54-53 advantage over the Jaguars in the kill column.
UP NEXT
The Braves are back in action Saturday at home against PBC foe Lander. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. The Bearcats (13-7, 3-4 PBC) are winner of three straight, including a sweep of Francis Marion Friday night in Florence. Lander leads the all-time series 25-16 over UNCP, including wins in the last 11 meetings.
