MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore outside hitter
Madelyn Ashwell unleashed at least eight kills for the 10th time this season, but host Georgia College hit over .290 in the second and third sets to sweep the UNC Pembroke volleyball squad in a Peach Belt Conference (PBC) match Friday night in Milledgeville.

FIRST SET
-The Bobcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening set, but the Black & Gold responded with a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to just one.
-With UNCP trailing by one at 15-14, Georgia College closed the set on an 11-3, including seven kills, to grab a 1-0 lead in the match.
SECOND SET
-An
Amber Tyndall kill put the Braves on top 13-12, but the Bobcats controlled the set from there by going on a 13-3 run, including a pair of kills and two attack errors.
THIRD SET
-The Braves used four-straight points to knot the set at 10-10 before Georgia College went on an 11-2 run to take a commanding 21-12 lead en route to the three-set victory.
NOTABLES
-After both sides hit under .100 in the first set, the Bobcat offense was awakened in the final two sets and hit .296 and .292 to compile a .204 hitting percentage for the match.
-Ashwell's eight kills paced the Braves, while Tyndall added seven kills, a solo block and a block assist. Ashwell tacked on four digs.
-Ashwell and Tyndall accounted for 15 of the team's 23 kills (65%), but just 39 of the Braves' 91 total attacks (43%).

Cayce Bell notched a team-best 14 digs, while
Bailee Jones handed out a team-high 10 assists.
UP NEXT
The Braves take a break from conference play and head to Wilson, North Carolina for a Tuesday match against Barton. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Wilson Gymnasium. The Bulldogs (17-6) have won 14-straight matches after starting the season 3-6 and haven't dropped a match since Sept. 9. UNCP leads the all-time series 20-15 over Barton, but the Bulldogs won both meetings last season.
