Flagler Hits Season-Best Clip In Win Over Volleyball On Senior Night

PEMBROKE – Visiting Flagler made just six errors and racked up a season-high .423 attack percentage on Friday night at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court to erase the UNC Pembroke volleyball team's three-match winning streak with a straight-set victory in Pembroke on senior night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST SET
-Flagler used a quartet of runs of at least 4-0 to break open the first set and run away with a 25-8 victory.

SECOND SET
-An Abby Farr service ace brought the Braves within one at 16-15, but the Saints rattled off a 6-0 run to pull ahead 22-15 and won the final three points to win the set, 25-17.

THIRD SET
-A one-point Flagler lead swelled to a seven-point advantage with a 6-0 run, but UNCP answered with six of the next seven to get back within two at 14-12.
-Nine of the next 10 points went to the Saints to give the guests a commanding 23-13 lead en route to a 25-16, third-set victory.

NOTABLES
-UNCP's lone senior Cayce Bell, who was honored prior to the match, logged six digs and three assists.
-Flagler's .423 hitting clip marked its highest mark of the season, while the Braves' -.038 mark is their second lowest of the campaign.
-The Saints hit over .400 in sets two and three and had a combined 28 kills in the final two stanzas.
-Makaylah Elliott paced the home squad with six kills and a .300 attack percentage, while Madelyn Ashwell, Tyler Fitzpatrick and Michelle Voyer each tacked on a trio of kills.

UP NEXT
-The Braves will make their first appearance in the PBC Tournament since 2013 when they travel to Milledgeville, Georgia next weekend. UNCP, which will be the No. 7 seed in the league tournament, will take on Flagler, USC Aiken or Georgia College in the opening round on Friday.
