PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke women's basketball squad plays host to high-powered Mount Olive when the Trojans invade Pembroke for a non-conference, Friday tilt. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.

- The Braves (1-0) opened the 2017-18 campaign with a home victory last Saturday against Fayetteville State. UNCP used a 10-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to pull away from the Broncos in a 72-65 triumph.
- Newcomers Tee Graham and Alecia Hardy combined for 26 points, including 18 in the second half and nine different Braves found the scoring column in the season opener. UNCP dished out 19 assists on 27 made baskets and logged 15 steals.
- UNCP dropped a 73-64 exhibition contest at UNC Wilmington last Sunday despite 17 points and eight boards from Nyla Allen. Melanie Horne chipped in 11 points in just 18 minutes of action.
- The Black & Gold lead the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) in 3-pointers made per game (8.0), 3-point attempts per game (24.0) and steals per game (15.0) through the season's first week and rank second in assists per game (19.0).
- UNCP holds a 24-4 advantage in the all-time series against Mount Olive, but the Trojans stole a 62-56 affair at their place last season. The Braves have claimed the last seven meetings in Pembroke dating back to the 1997-98 season.

- Mount Olive (1-2) picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday in a 99-64 defeat of Saint Augustine's. The Trojans dropped their first two contests to Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne at the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Challenge.
- Three Trojans are averaging double-digit scoring numbers through three outings, including Felecity Havens who boasts a Conference Carolinas-best 25.3 points per game and team-high 9.0 boards per outing. Havens' scoring mark is currently 10th-best in Division II. Kennedi Jones (75.0) and Kelly Post (69.2) rank first and second in the league in field goal percentage.
- The Trojans lead the Conference Carolinas in points per game (86.3), field goals made per game (71.0), field goal attempts per game (71.0) and rebounding margin per game (6.0). The potent-Trojan offense ranks 17th in the nation in points per game.
- Mount Olive is allowing opponents to shoot 41.5 percent from the floor and 42.6 percent from behind the arc, while surrendering 82.7 points per contest.
