Bailee Jones tacked up her second double-double of the season, but the UNC Pembroke volleyball team never found momentum in a straight-sets loss to host Lander Friday evening in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action.

FIRST SET
-Lander claimed the night's first six points before an
Amber Tyndall kill ended the run.
-The Black & Gold used a 5-2 run in the middle of the set to pull within four at 14-10, highlighted by a pair of kills and a block from
Makaylah Elliott.
-The Bearcats once again found a 6-0 run, this time to grab a commanding 20-10 lead en route to a first-set victory.
SECOND SET
-Kills from
Aquia Jones and Elliott put UNCP up 2-0 and another Elliott kill knotted the match at 3-3 after three-straight Bearcat points.
-The Lander run came early in set two, as the hosts turned a 3-3 tie into a 12-4 lead with nine of the next ten points.
-The Braves were down just five at 16-11, but the Bearcats locked down the set with a 9-2 run in the final 11 points.
THIRD SET
-Five-straight Lander points put the Greenwood natives up 9-2 before 11-straight rallies ended in Bearcat points to seal the set 25-7.

Tyler Fitzpatrick paced the guests with five kills each, while
Aquia Jones and Tyndall each added four.

The Braves continue heading southeast for a Saturday matchup with Augusta that is set for a 2 p.m. first serve at the Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars (6-4, 0-1 PBC) dropped their league opener to Francis Marion Friday night in four sets. UNCP and Augusta have one common opponent thus far, as the Braves fell 3-1 to Belmont Abbey while the Jags knocked off the Crusaders 3-1.
