HOW IT HAPPENED
Box Score/Play-by-Play

FIRST HALF
- Georgia College notched two shots in the opening 5:40 of the contest, but the Braves collected the next 11 shots and went into the intermission with an 11-3 advantage in that column.
- Stewart made good on a penalty kick blast to the upper right to give the Black & Gold a 1-0 lead. The penalty kick was awarded after Katy Ryan was fouled just feet away from the GC goal.
- UNCP nearly doubled its advantage in the 34th minute, but a slow roller off the foot of Rilee Seering was cleared off the line by a Bobcat defender.
- Georgia College went more than 39 minutes without a shot until Unnbjorg Omarsdottir stopped the drought on a strike with 17 seconds left in the opening period.

SECOND HALF
- Georgia College nearly evened up the game on a long blast by Cassie Balzano just less than five minutes into the second half, but Gina Ryan made a nifty one-handed save and tipped the ball into her own hands to prove equal to the task.
- UNCP had several chances to pad its lead in the first 18 minutes of the second stanza, but Bobcat netminder Ashlee Graham was impressive in keeping the visitors in the game.
- Alexis Pittman fired off an impressive one-time off of a long service in the 56th minute, but Graham left her feet to keep the ball out of the net. Graham was tested again eight minutes later on back-to-back shots from Stacey Scott, but was able to keep the ball away from the touch line.

NOTABLES
- Stewart, an everyday defender for the Braves, registered her first career goal in the victory.
- Gina Ryan tallied her 16th career victory in goal, as well as her 10th career shutout, with a 3-save outing on Thursday. The sophomore is now one of just four goalkeepers in program history to notch double-digit clean sheets.
- The Braves are now 5-3-1 all-time against Georgia College in Pembroke. Thirteen of the 16 matchups in the series have been decided by one goal or less.
