PEMBROKE – A 26-shot onslaught, highlighted by a pair of
Stacey Scott goals and
Kimsey Collins' first-career goal, fueled the UNC Pembroke soccer squad to a 3-0 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) victory over visiting Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.

FIRST HALF
-The Braves wasted no time ramping up the pressure on the 'Canes, as the hosts uncorked a pair of shots in the 6th-minute.
-It was UNCP's fifth shot that broke the seal in the 23rd minute when
Stacey Scott put her head on the end of a
Kristina Stevenson corner kick and found the back of the net.
-Five more first-half shots gave the Braves 10 in the first 45 minutes and the Black & Gold held Georgia Southwestern without a shot in the first stanza.
SECOND HALF
-UNCP stayed relentless to start the second half and fired four shots in the first 13 minutes of play.
-The Black & Gold lead was doubled in the 62nd-minute, as
Stacey Scott notched her second goal of the day following a pair of touches by
Alexis Pittman and
Shannon O'Neill.
-The third and final UNCP tally came early in the 89th-minute when the redshirt-junior Collins banged home a pass from
Jillian Robson for her first-career goal in her 14th game played in a Braves' uniform.
NOTABLES
-The Braves have now outscored Georgia Southwestern 57-2 in the 12 all-time meetings between the squads.
-The lone 'Canes shot came in the 70th-minute to match a UNCP record for fewest shots allowed in a game. The other three instances came in the 2009 campaign.
-Thirteen Braves recorded at least one shot, paced by five from Scott and four from freshman
Rilee Seering.
-Scott's goals were her second and third of the season to bring her even with Pittman for the team lead in points with eight.
-The assists from Stevenson and Pittman were the second of the season for each player, while O'Neill and Robson each picked up their first assists this year.

Gina Ryan picked up her fifth win of the season in net, as the freshman played the first 65:27 in goal for the hosts. She did not face a shot on goal.
-The victory moves UNCP into a tie for second in the PBC standings with nine points and the Braves trial league-leading Flagler by just one point.

The Braves hit the road for a two-game road trip, kicked off by a Monday tilt against Converse. First touch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Hayden Abney Fulp Field in Sparatnburg, S.C. The Valkyries (3-4-2) knocked off Mount Olive by a 2-1 score on Saturday. Monday will mark the fourth all-time meeting between UNCP and Converse, but first since 2003. The Black & Gold are a perfect 3-0 in the series and are outscoring the Valkyries 13-0 in the three meetings.
