GREENWOOD, S.C. – Home-standing Lander netted a goal in each half and limited the UNC Pembroke soccer team to a trio of first half shots, but had to hold off a late charge by the Braves on the way to a 2-1 Peach Belt Conference victory on Wednesday evening at Van Taylor Stadium.
The setback kept the Braves (4-4-0, 1-3-0 PBC) winless in four road outings this season, while also snapping a five-game series win streak by the Black & Gold as well. It was the first series win since Oct. 9, 2013, for Lander (8-2-1, 3-2-1) who improved to 4-0-1 at home this season with the result.

| NOTABLES |
- Action was suspended with just more than 37 minutes left in the second half due to a lightning strike in the area. It is the sixth game this season, including cancellations and postponements, that has been affected by weather.
- UNCP rode a five-game series win streak into Wednesday's contest against the Bearcats, and had outscored Lander 10-1 over that victory skein as well. Lander has netted two goals in each of its last three victories over the Black & Gold.
- The Braves have been outscored 10-3 in four road games this season, while also being outshot, 68-22, in contests away from Pembroke as well. Of those 22 shots, 14 have come in the second half of play.
