PEMBROKE – Due to the continued aftermath of Hurricane Florence, the UNC Pembroke football team will not make the trip to Greeneville, Tenn., on Saturday for their regularly-scheduled contest against Tusculum at Pioneer Field. There are no plans to make up the game at this time.
Based on information released Wednesday morning by the National Weather Service, the severe flooding threat to eastern North Carolina has been extended through Thursday. As a result, safety personnel at UNCP recommend that staff, students and fans continue to shelter in place.
The Braves (1-1) are slated to be in action again on September 29 when they return to Grace P. Johnson Stadium to take on Newberry. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
