Baseball Rumbles Past Georgia College In Series Opener

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke baseball team sent a dozen batters to the plate amid a 9-run third inning and got base hits from 10 different players on the way to a 20-5 victory over Georgia College in the series opener on Friday evening at Sammy Cox Field.

It was the eighth win in the last 11 outings for the Braves (15-12, 5-8 PBC) who tacked up their most runs against a Peach Belt Conference foe since a 24-9 victory over Lander on April 18, 2015. It was the third-straight loss for the Bobcats (13-12, 7-7) who had their five-game win streak in the series with the Black & Gold snapped as well.
