Baseball Finishes Off Young Harris, Win Streak Hits Double Digits

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The UNC Pembroke baseball team sent 11 batters to the plate to fuel a rally in a game-changing fifth inning as the Braves put the finishing touches on a weekend sweep of Young Harris with a 10-1 victory over the Mountain Lions on Sunday at Zell B. Miller Field.
 
The result helped the Braves (17-5, 10-2 PBC) push their win streak out to 10 games – the longest winning skein since the 2018 club tacked up 10 consecutive victories as well. Young Harris (9-8, 3-6) has now dropped four-straight home games in the series with the Black & Gold, and fell to 3-9 all-time against UNCP in its home stadium.

KEY INNINGS
TOP 1 Jarratt Mobley gave the Braves the early lead when he hammered YHC starter Kyle Turner's first offering over the fence in centerfield.
BOT 4 Brett Hawkins led off the frame with a single up the middle, but it appeared to have gone all for naught until Logan Worley's two-out double down the left field line knotted the score back up.
TOP 7 UNCP blew a close game wide open with seven runs in the fifth. The Braves scored six runs with two outs showing, and the inning was highlighted by a 2-run triple from Trevor Clemons and a 2-run double off the bat of Alex Simpson.
