GREENVILLE, S.C. – After recording a top-25 finish at the UAH Chargers Cross Country Invite on Saturday morning, Erman Jepleting has been named as the Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week, league officials announced Monday. 
 
The announcement marks the second weekly conference award for Jepleting this season. 
 
A native of Eldoret, Kenya, Jepleting covered the 5K course at Huntsville's John Hunt Park in 18:07.34 for a 24^th place finish on Saturday. The senior finished just one second off of an 8-year-old school record, but still managed to bust her personal-best time by 34 seconds.
 
A 2019 All-Peach Belt Conference selection, Jepleting has logged seven top-10 finishes in her career in the Black & Gold, including a runner-up showing at the Queens-hosted Tom Scott Open last season. She also logged a third-place finish at the 2019 PBC Championships at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton.
 
The Black & Gold now turn their attention to the Conference Carolinas Championships which are set for October 23. The races will be held on the campus of Mount Olive with the men's race beginning at 10 a.m. and the women's race following at 11 a.m.
