Neither team displayed the hot hand at the net in the opening set, but Erskine put together a late run to ultimately get the better hand. Erskine's late 5-2 run gave the hosts a slight 22-20 lead, but the visitors tacked up two-straight points to even up the set moments later. The Flying Fleet, however, would rake in three of the set's final four points, including two via kill, to wrap it up. |

The Braves committed just four attack errors in the second set, and came out firing on all cylinders to eventually even the match up. The Black & Gold forged a 13-6 advantage after a kill from Shannon Skryd, but Erskine whittled away at its deficit and eventually climbed to within three points, 22-19, on a kill by Rebekah Ruth Smith. That would be all she wrote for the Flying Fleet, however, as an attack error by Ruth moments later opened the door, and consecutive kills from Skryd closed it out. |

UNCP would end up swinging the momentum in a hard-fought third set that featured 14 tie scores and six lead changes. A kill from Taylor Osborne set the Braves up with a 24-22 lead and a set point opportunity, but the Flying Fleet, but Erskine held on until they could not any longer. The Flying Fleet fought off a pair of set point opportunities to take the set into extra time, but an attack error by the hosts, and an ensuing kill by Shannon Skryd, ultimately swung the day into UNCP's favor. |

UNCP hit .205 at the net and held the Flying Fleet to just a -.031 in the third set to clinch the team victory. The Braves scored the set's first five points, and then utilized an 11-1 run later in the set to pad their advantage out to 22-11. Erskine threw up a late 7-1 run to show notice of a late comeback attempt, but the Braves stopped the drought on a kill from Erin O'Donnell, and then wrapped the day in Black & Gold thanks to an attack error by the hosts. |
