PEMBROKE –
Anna Grossheim's goal just 13 seconds into the contest gave the UNC Pembroke soccer team an early advantage that it never relinquished as the Braves went on to win 4-1 over Southern Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.
The victory for the Braves (12-3-0, 10-0-0 CC) marked the 11
th consecutive win this season, which now matches a program best run of success originally posted by the 2008 squad. The setback for the Warriors (2-11-1, 2-8-0 CC) marked the fourth-straight loss this season.

+ Grossheim's goal 13 seconds into play marked the fastest goal in program history. Grossheim bested teammate Rilee Seering's goal just 19 seconds into the win over Chowan earlier this season. The freshman has now logged 11 goals this season.
+ Alexis Pittman tallied her fifth goal of the season. The senior's goal was her first since a 5-0 victory at King.
+ Kennedy Rucker and Brianna De Coteau each recorded their first goals of the season. It was the second career goal for Rucker, but the first collegiate goal for De Coteau. |
