MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Erman Jepleting shattered a school record in the Mile Run to highlight the action on the final day of competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Dough Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Jepleting's time of 5:11.02 was good enough for a third-place finish and was nearly five seconds faster than the previous record set by
Skylar Moreno in 2019.
Savannah Watkins ran a personal-best time of 14.67 in the 100-meter Hurdle finals to walk away with a seventh-place finish, while
Micaiah Darity finished 10
th in the Triple Jump with a personal-best mark of 10.61-meters.
On the men's side, Shymeik Reaves,
Orlandus Gamble,
Caleb Baldwin,
Preston Coker teamed up for the 4x100 Relay to take second-place with a time of 40.64.
Delsin Burkhart recorded a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter Run with a personal-best time of 1:58.10, while
Walker Mabe placed ninth in the 400-meter Dash with a time of 51.13, which was also a personal-best.
The Braves will be back in action next Friday for the Adidas Trojan Challenge hosted by Mount Olive. The two-day meet will be held at the Ray McDonald Sr. Track & Field Complex.
